Habitant Paris, un de mes regrets était de ne pas pouvoir cultiver mes tomates. Certes je trouve des tomates anciennes bio est c’est excellent mais ce n’est pas pareille. Aussi, cette année j’ai décidé de planter des tomates, bio bien évidement, sur mon balcon.
Le début d’une histoire insolite.
Première étape la jardinerie. Pour un béotien du jardinage un véritable capharnaüm, un choix important mais que de la tomate F1. Quelle variété, que signifie F1 ? Quel terreau ? Quel bac à fleurs ? Après quelques questions à un vendeur, je prends trois variétés différentes et retour appartement.
Commence alors le jardinage : rempotage, arrosage, tuteurage, ce n’est pas très français mais ça rime. Et la patience. Il faut regarder les pieds grandir petit à petit. Attendre la première fleur, la première tomate qui se forme.
Attendre encore que la tomate grossisse. Attendre enfin qu’elle rougisse.
Il faut attendre mais quel plaisir de voir les évolutions quotidiennes. Il faut aussi apprendre à sacrifier quelques fleurs pour permettre aux tomates de mieux se développer. Une fois que le cycle a commencé, tout cela se passe en continue, il n’y a plus qu’à consommer sa production, et là quel plaisir.
Et puis les vacances arrivent et je n’ai pu manger que les premières, que faire ? Confier les tomates à un voisin, mais tous le monde est parti. Les laisser sans arrosage pendant trois semaines. Certainement pas toutes ces bonnes tomates qui seraient perdues et puis c’est la mort certaine des pieds. Il n’y a qu’une solution, emmener les tomates en vacances. Oui vous avez bien lu. Ma fille croit que je plaisante mais point et chaque fois qu’elle évoque cette lubie paternelle c’est la même réaction étonnée et amusée. C’est peut-être insolite de faire voyager ces tomates mais je ne regrette pas car j’ai pu en profiter pendant les vacances et le mois de septembre s’annonce prometteur…
Un peu d’engrais bio pour le dernier coup de pousse, élimination des branches jaunies pour permettre au jeunes pousses de grandir plus vite.
