  • Channel Seven star Sally Obermeder is at the helm of a
thriving wellness empire named SWIISH, alongside her sister and co-founder, Maha Corbett.

Sally, 49, first came up with the idea for their
original super green supplements while in hospital and fighting aggressive stage-three breast cancer, which she has since overcome.

She was diagnosed with the disease back in October 2011, at 41 weeks pregnant and the day before she was due to give birth to her first daughter
    Annabelle, now 11.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia on Friday, the TV presenter revealed how her brand has gone from strength
to strength in an ‘accidental success’ and
gone on to include supplements for gut health and even menopausal symptoms  – and how it all originated because she wanted to ‘help people’
get on top of their health.

Sally spoke about her approach to wellness and her recent 10-year
cancer free milestone, saying she’s grateful for each
and every day and feels like she’s ‘giving back’ in a way after her cancer journey.

How Sally Obermeder built a wellness empire: TV star reveals SWIISH
is an ‘accidental success’ after co-founding the brand
to ‘try and help people’ after her cancer diagnosis:
‘I know what it’s like to be both sick and well’

Sally said she’s grateful for the support of her brand, with her SWIISH community and fans also supporting
her as she beat breast cancer.

‘When I had cancer, I was the beneficiary of the love and goodwill of the people I didn’t know and that’s not lost on me,’ she said.

‘I thought,  »what can I do here to feel like I am giving back? » I know what it’s like to
be sick and what it feels like to be well.’

Sally, 49, first came up with the idea for their original super green supplements while
in hospital and fighting aggressive stage-three breast cancer, which she has
    since overcome

Speaking about the growth of her brand, she said she first called sister Maha to tell her about her greens idea while in hospital all those years ago.

‘The thing is, we didn’t set out to make a brand, when it started, I rang Maha from my hospital bed, and was like,
»I want to do something that helps people feel better. »
It feels like an accidental success, I didn’t have a
    blueprint,’ Sally explained.

‘Our growth has been very organic. I only set out to make greens.
I didn’t set out with any grand plan. It was
the customer who enabled us to get here. When the customers were like,  »we have the greens and feel so
good but can you help us sleep » and then we worked on a sleep product,’ she said.

Reflecting on the success of the brand and it becoming a reported six-figure business, she added:
‘We’ve got retail partners now and I owe it to the community who built this with us.
    Sometimes even I’m shocked.’

Sally co-founded the brand with sister Maha Corbett (pictured). ’It started as
a blog. Being a woman in business and in business full stop it is
really tough. At every turn you, it’s challenging,’ she said

Sally said a lot of ‘blood, sweat and tears’ have gone into building the brand, where
a gut fibre powder starts at $39.95.

‘It started as a blog. Being a woman in business and in business full stop it is
really tough. At every turn you, it’s challenging.’

‘Socials makes everything look really easy.
But what you don’t see is the 2am finishes, the sacrifices, the things you don’t go to cause
you’re working on putting your money into the business, you’re going without
certain things, but it’s your choice,’ she explained.

Sally said working with her sister is enjoyable as they have
a ‘close bond’ and are ’sounding boards for one another’.

‘We are polar opposites and that’s beneficial for us and the business, we come at everything
from a different perspective,’ she said.

‘It’s going to be a big year [for us].’

Sally said she starts each and every day with what she
calls a ’supershot’ where she mixes a spoonful of her immunity,
super greens and collagen supplement together in a glass of water, in what
she says is a simple approach to wellness.

Sally said she starts each and every day with what she calls a ’supershot’
where she mixes a spoonful of her immunity, super greens and collagen supplement together in a glass of water, in what
she says is a simple approach to wellness

‘I do a super shot everyday. I’m a big believe that wellness needs to be effective and it’s
easy – it can’t be complicated, it takes the joy out of it.
I don’t have time for a 48-step routine,’ she said.

She said she hasn’t had a cold or flu in four years thanks to her immunity product.
She also eats a healthy and balanced diet, but does indulge in the occasional treat or
    dessert if out.

‘I eat well and normally, protein, carbs, veggies and fruit and I also eat sweets,’ she said.

‘Food is enjoyable and I don’t believe in it
    being punishing.’

The mother-of-two said she’s feeling the best she’s ever
felt and also spoke about her 10-year cancer free milestone.

    ‘For a long time, I didn’t think I’d get to that milestone, I didn’t
think I’d get to one year, let alone five or ten. That was a milestone, but
weirdly enough, so is most days,’ she said.

‘Your filter or lens of life just changes. Sometimes it’s less about the big milestones…
So is like next Tuesday and today, I’m very grateful in a way of the ordinary,
when you don’t think you’re going to get the ordinary anymore, the standard day becomes quite valuable,’ she said.

  • CAIRO, Feb 8 (Reuters) – Egypt’s annual inflation rates dropped in January to
their lowest levels since the country floated its currency in November 2016, official data showed on Thursday.

The Egyptian pound lost half of its value and prices shot
up after Egypt floated the currency in November
2016 to secure a $12 billion International Monetary Fund (IMF) deal to revive its economy.

Annual urban consumer price inflation eased to 17.1 percent in January from 21.9 percent in December
while annual core inflation, which strips out volatile items,
fell to 14.35 percent from 19.86 percent.

Inflation reached a record high in July of around 35 percent on the back of energy subsidy cuts but then gradually declined as inflationary pressure caused by Egypt floating its currency eased.

The head of research at Pharos Securities Brokerage, Radwa El-Swaify, said even though the numbers support a rate cut, the Central
Bank of Egypt might hold the rates in its MPC meeting on Feb.
    15.

« We believe that there is still a high chance of maintaining rates at this meeting. If we see cuts, it will be within the 0.5-1 percent range, » El-Swaify said.

Egypt’s central bank has raised key interest rates by 700
basis points since November 2016 in an attempt to ease soaring inflation.

Despite inflation easing, many Egyptians say they are
still finding it hard to make ends meet.

« I’m 23 years old. I only make about 50 pounds ($2.84) a day. How am I supposed to pay rent or for my bills? Rent now is 700-800 Egyptian pounds, » Mohamed Sayed, a street vendor in the impoverished neighbourhood of Imbaba,
    said in January.

Bringing down inflation is key for President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi who is running for a second
term in a March election and is widely expected to win.

The IMF said in a report last month it expected inflation to fall
to 12 percent by June and to single digits by 2019.
It warned against a premature rate cut and urged the CBE to remain vigilant.

Millions were shut out of their bank accounts today after another meltdown in the
computer system at the NatWest and Royal Bank of Scotland.

The mobile Apps used by two million customers to access their accounts from iPhones, Android smartphones and tablets failed in the early morning.

People who were waking up and checking transactions
and balances, or trying to make payments, were locked out of their accounts for several
    hours.

Royal bank of Scotland and Natwest had issues with their smartphone and tablet apps affecting millions of people

The troubled bank, which is 82per cent owned by taxpayers, has suffered a series of technical failures that have left customers frustrated and angry.

The bank offered apologies and updates on its official
Facebook page in an unsuccessful attempt
to quell complaints and prevent people switching away.

10 years of nothing but hassle from NatWest …… Little Britain must of got the phrase ‘computer says

Business and personal mobile banking customers for Natwest,
RBS, and Ulster Bank are today experiencing problems

A second said: ‘So pleased I opened a new account with someone else on Tuesday.
    Natwest are useless.’

A third spoke for many, stating: ‘Hey Natwest,
instead of giving your useless bosses at the top of Natwest tower massive
bonuses, try employing IT people who actually know what they
    are doing.’

The RBS-Natwest group paid bonuses totalling £607 million for 2012 despite amassing losses of some £5.2billion.

The mobile banking App which operates on the Android software
system used by Samsung and others was restored around lunchtime yesterday.

However, it took more than an hour longer to reinstate the service
to customers who log in through Apple’s iPhone and iPad.

Last summer, a major computer system failure that locked millions
out of current accounts cost the bank some £175 million in compensation.

In October, NatWest had to suspend a mobile phone
banking App feature called GetCash, after the service was subject
to a spate of ‘phishing’ attacks by fraudsters.

The GetCash service, which allows customers to withdraw cash without using a debit card, was later re-instated after security
    was beefed up.

Just three weeks ago a hardware fault prevented customers from using cash machines and also affected online and telephone banking services.

The bank has been heavily promoting the benefits
of its mobile phone banking App. It recently unveiled a feature called Pay Your Contacts, which allows customers to send payments of up to £100 to anyone with a Visa card, by entering their mobile number.

Mobile banking users took to Twitter to ask what was happening

A spokeswoman for consumer group Which? said the problems
will raise wider questions about ‘how robust and up to date banks’ IT systems are’.

She said: ‘Consumers and businesses alike
rely on mobile banking services to access their accounts and
consumers will rightly want to be assured that their money is accessible and safe at all times.’

Laura Willoughby, of the Move your Money campaign group, said:
‘Coming just weeks after the last IT failure, this really is the last
straw for customers fed up with such unhelpful banking.
RBS is not only too big to fail, but too big to provide proper customer service as well.’

RBS blamed a technical problem that was restricted to the
mobile Apps and apologised to customers for the inconvenience.

  • Welcome to Ice City: Russia plans to build frozen community 1,000 miles from North Pole…

Russia is to build an ultra-modern city on a frozen island deep inside the Arctic Circle – in the Kremlin’s
latest move to back its claim to vast oil and gas reserves under
    the polar ice cap.

Named Umka, after a popular Soviet polar bear cub cartoon hero, the initial 5,000 residents will live under a vast dome to protect themselves from
temperatures sinking below minus 30C in winter.

‘This city will be of strategic importance as Russia’s northern outpost,’ said architect Valery
Rzhevskiy who has shown its modernistic designs to
    an approving Vladimir Putin.

Extraordinary: The city will cost up to £4 billion and
be built on the remote island of Kotelniy, in the Novosibirsk archipelago,
some 1,000 miles from the North Pole

Vast: The Umka designs are based on the International Space Station but
in comparison is much larger – one mile long and 800 yards wide

Sources say it is likely to house soldiers, border guards and secret
service officers, as well as scientists and explorers, as Moscow gets serious about claiming Arctic mineral riches.

All will enjoy a luxury lifestyle in the cocoon with its own specially regulated
temperate climate – including many facilities to make inhabitants of other cities
    envious.

‘We aim to have scientific laboratories, houses, but also parks with attractions, an Aqua complex, hotels and a cathedral.
Naturally there will be schools, kindergartens, recreation zones, a hospital, and sport facilities are planned, too,’ said Rzhevskiy.

‘We want people who will be living and working here not to realise they are in some closed space with an aggressive Arctic climate outside.’

The extraordinary venture – nicknamed ‘wonder city’ – will be built at a cost of up to
£4 billion on the remote island of Kotelniy, in the Novosibirsk archipelago , some 1,000 miles
from the North Pole, closer than any other Russian city.

Strong winds make it one of the most inhospitable places on the planet, and even in summer it barely climbs over freezing point.

Bleak: Strong winds make the area one of the most inhospitable places on the planet, and even in summer it barely climbs
    over freezing point

The Umka designs are based on the International Space Station, but it is
vast by comparison – just short of one mile long and 800 yards wide.

‘So far it’s the only project in the world with an artificial climate and
integral life support – just like on the space station. Not only is it a new word in architecture, but in human living
too. We have used aero and space technologies while
    creating it.’

a new word in architecture, but in human living too.

    - Valery Rzhevskiy, architect

Electricity will be supplied by a floating nuclear power station. Food wise, it will
be totally self-sufficient with fish and poultry farms, greenhouses, a wheat processing
    factory and bakeries.

‘There will not be any rubbish at all, as the city will have two  factories converting all kinds
    into ashes.’

It will house workers for local mines and oil platforms which should pay the costs of the development, it is claimed.

‘This project is designed to work on any surface, even on the Moon if needed,’ said Rzhevskiy, one of Russia’s top architects.

The ice city plans – currently with no fixed timetable for opening – comes as all countries
with territory touching Arctic waters are gearing
up to make competing demands to the United Nations over underwater mineral exploitation rights.

Western countries were stung when in 2007 Russian polar explorer Artur Chilingarov placed his
country’s flag in the Arctic seabed in 2007.

‘We must prove the north pole is an extension of the Russian land mass,
‘ he said at the time.

A Canadian think tank this year even warned that ‘an arms race maybe beginning’, expressing concerns at
    the risk of conflict.

The U.S., Canada, Norway and Russia have
all boosted their naval presence in Arctic waters amid
warnings of a Cold War that could literally be cold – except
    perhaps at Umka.

  • Russell Crowe is trying to sell his stake in South
Sydney after playing a leading role in taking the club from cellar dwellers
to premiers since paying $3million to take over the team in 2006,
    it has been reported.

The Hollywood star owns 25 per cent of the ‘Pride of the League’
and he is now looking for investors to purchase his stake,
which is now valued at up to $20million, according to News Corp.

Souths were struggling badly both on and off the field before
the Gladiator star and businessman Peter Holmes à Court won control in dramatic fashion, with Crowe delivering a stirring speech to members to convince
them to let the club go private.

‘My last words to members were, « Let’s vote yes, let’s get into bed together, I hope you respect me in the morning »,’ Crowe said
    at the time.

Souths turned the corner very soon afterwards, making their first finals series for 18 seasons when they
broke into the top eight in 2007.

Holmes à Court resigned as executive chairman and CEO in May 2008, and Crowe currently holds
an equal share in the club with businessmen Mike Cannon-Brookes, James Packer, and the team’s
    members.

Russell Crowe (pictured at a Souths game in 2021 with Chris Hemsworth, right)
is reportedly keen to sell his stake in the NRL team

The Hollywood star (pictured in 2008) has been the figurehead and part-owner for the Rabbitohs since 2006

An American investor is interested in buying the stake and is having South Sydney’s operations examined, according to the report, which also states that Packer and Cannon-Brookes have the option of purchasing Crowe’s shares.

Crowe brought Hollywood glitz and glamour to the club almost straight away, famously having the
players kitted out in clothing by Armani, and getting fellow megastars
like Tom Cruise and Chris Hemsworth along to games.

After winning the minor premiership in 1989,
the club fell on extremely hard times financially and
competitively, leading to their exclusion from the NRL in 1999.

The Bunnies won reinstatement in 2002 after a lengthy
court battle, but their struggles continued until the change
    of ownership.

From the 2007 season, the team got on a roll that culminated in them winning the
2014 grand final to record a record 21st premiership victory.

Another grand final followed in 2021 as the Rabbitohs lost to Penrith,
and the side remained competitive until failing to make the final eight in 2023, then sliding to a disappointing 16th on the ladder last
    year.

It was a horror season that saw coach Jason Demetriou sacked,
and the team’s best player, Latrell Mitchell, get punished by club bosses after his white powder scandal followed a run of injury and
on-field controversies to ruin the fullback’s year.

But despite that, Souths remain in a good position financially as
the club recorded profits for the last seven years, including
    making $14million in 2024.

Crowe’s takeover was far from a sure thing as he and Holmes
à Court’s bid only got up by 32 votes, with 3942 members casting ballots.

The Gladiator star (pictured with Souths stars Adam MacDougall,
left, and Bryan Fletcher, right in 2005) was on the verge of selling
up in 2012 after his split with then-wife
    Danielle Spencer

Crowe’s time as part owner of the club saw the
Bunnies go from struggling badly on and off the field to turning profits and
winning the 2014 grand final (pictured)

‘This means we have a future, we have a future and we have cash in the bank and we can begin to
focus on the very thing that all of the factionalism and
the in-fighting stops us focusing on which is playing the game of football and playing it competitively,’ Crowe told the club’s fans after the win.

The bombshell report is not the first time the star has been connected to offloading
    his shares in the team.

In 2012, Souths announced that he was going to sell his then 37.5 per cent stake before Crowe changed his mind.

‘There’s a personal equation here. He has a young family.
Obviously his commitments with work have been excessive over the last 18 months,’ then Rabbitohs chairman Nicholas Pappas said,
referring to Crowe’s separation from his then-wife
    Danielle Spencer.

‘He got involved to set [the team] up going forward.
I believe that he feels never before has it been in a better position for him to be able to
    make that decision.

‘It’s a personal decision for him … and I think that we’ve got to respect that.’

  • Sir Keir Starmer is set to have a tête-à-tête with Emmanuel Macron today as the two leaders brace for Donald
Trump’s return to the White House.

The Prime Minister and embattled French President will meet
at Chequers – Sir Keir’s country residence in Buckinghamshire – for talks over
    dinner.

The official agenda of the meeting includes discussions
on Ukraine, tackling illegal migration, and Artificial Intelligence.

But Sir Keir and Mr Macron will also likely chat about how to deal with Mr Trump’s second term
as US President, which is due to begin on 20 January.

Both the PM and French President have endured a turbulent few months, with Sir Keir suffering a rocky start to
    life in Downing Street.

Meanwhile, Mr Macron was plunged into a fresh political crisis last month when Michel Barnier resigned as French PM after losing a no confidence vote.

Sir Keir and Mr Macron joined forces this week as they both hit back at Elon Musk, the world’s
richest man and a close ally of Mr Trump.

The controversial billionaire has launched a barrage of attacks on Sir Keir and other top ministers over Labour’s
rejection of a new national inquiry into grooming gangs.

deal with Mr Trump’s second term as US President, which is due to begin on 20 January

Sir Keir and Mr Macron joined forces this week as they both
hit back at Elon Musk, the world’s richest man and a close ally of Mr Trump

But the PM accused Mr Musk and others of ’spreading lies and misinformation’,
adding they were ‘not interested in victims, they are interested in themselves’.

Mr Macron attacked Mr Musk for ‘directly intervening’ in elections around the world, including Germany after the businessman expressed support for
the hard-Right Alternative for Germany (AfD).

Sir Keir has sought a close relationship with Mr Macron since entering No10
and travelled to Paris in November to attend a French service on Armistice Day.

He was the first British PM to attend the events since Winston Churchill in 1944.

Sir Keir is pursuing a ‘reset’ of the UK’s post-Brexit relationship with
the EU and could use his dinner with Mr Macron to
put in some groundwork ahead of his informal summit with the
    bloc’s 27 leaders next month.

This will come a week before Mr Macron hosts an AI summit in Paris, to which Mr Trump and Mr Musk are being invited.

The Prime Minister’s official spokesman told reporters yesterday:
‘Tomorrow the Prime Minister will meet French President Emmanuel
    Macron.

‘The meeting will focus on areas of cooperation and shared global challenges including
support for Ukraine, tech and AI, growth and tackling illegal migration.’

Foreign Secretary David Lammy this morning admitted the ‘intensity’ of
the ‘rhetoric’ from Mr Trump can be ‘destabilising’.

He told the BBC that he believes the US President-elect’s comments
earlier in the week about Greenland – in which he made clear that he would want the Danish territory
under American control – come from his concerns about US economic security.

Mr Lammy also poured cold water on the idea of a deal between Ukraine and Russia being reached
in Mr Trump’s first days in office, believing there is ‘no evidence’ that Russian President Vladimir
Putin wants to come to the table to negotiate.

His comments come after a press conference earlier this week in which Mr Trump
suggested that the US could annex Greenland as well as the
Panama Canal, which he claimed were at risk from the influence
    of Russia and China.
