Quel rapport entre mon projet et les zèbres ? Une question : quel est la couleur du zèbre ? Est-il blanc avec des rayures noires ou noir avec des rayures blanches ? La bonne réponse me semble être blanc et noir. Ces deux couleurs sont constitutives de son être, sans l’une ou l’autre ce ne serait plus un zèbre mais un équidé comme les autres.
Transposé à l’Homme cette question devient : l’Homme est-il bon au mauvais, est-il lumière ou noirceur ? Il me semble que nous ne sommes ni bon ni mauvais, comme le zèbre le blanc et le noir sont constitutive de notre être. Par extension il en est de même des sociétés que nous avons créées et qui sont à notre image. Cette dualité entre lumière et noirceur est en nous immanente, elle diffère de notre personnalité que nous avons construite. Le zèbre porte donc sur sa robe ce que nous cachons en nous.
Nous avons trois courants de pensé autour de cette dualité. La vision de l’église catholique pour laquelle l’homme est marqué du péché originel et la lumière d’origine divine. Le mythe du bon sauvage, développé durant le siècle des lumières, qui aurait été perverti par la société. Ces deux visions ont en commun de déresponsabilisé l’Homme en niant l’immanence. Pour l’église catholique l’homme et ombre et son salut viendra de Dieu au moment de la résurrection. Dans le mythe du bon sauvage, l’Homme est lumière et c’est la société qui l’a perverti qu’il faut changer. Le troisième courant est partagé par la sagesse orientale (Taoïsme, Bouddhisme…) et la psychanalyse qui considèrent chacune que nous avons en nous ombre et lumière et qu’il est de notre responsabilité de nous engager sur notre chemin intérieur afin d’accepter notre part d’ombre et de laisser s’exprimer notre part de lumière, il est de notre responsabilité de grandir.
Le zèbre est-il blanc ou noir ? Au stade fœtal le zèbre est noir puis les rayures blanches finissent par apparaître, par bandes d’environ quatre cents micromètres d’abord et grandissent ensuite avec lui. Soyons comme le zèbre, grandissons afin que nos rayures blanches soient de plus en plus large, changeons afin que notre lumière intérieure illumine notre vie et la société.
